Summary
News story structure is the inverted pyramid is the basic form of news writing which places the information in the story in the order of decreasing importance. The most important of the readers’ questions are answered in the lead and first few paragraphs. The details, for those who want more information, are included in subsequent paragraphs.
Some basic rules of news writing:
• The lead, or first paragraph, of the story should be short, about 25 words.
• Subsequent paragraphs should also be short, between 25 and 35 words. News paragraphs bear little resemblance to the paragraphs of essays that students have been writing, except that they are indented at the beginning.
• The story should answer the questions associated with the 5 Ws and H (Who, What, Where, When, Why and How) in a logical order, beginning with the information that is the most important or interesting to the reading audience.
• News should be in active, rather than passive, voice. Sentences written in active voice are livelier and are more concisely written than those in passive voice.
News Briefs is a news briefs are very concise stories, generally between two and four paragraphs, which give very basic information about an event or situation which merits coverage, but does not require a full-blown story. These may or may not include quotations. They are written in classic inverted pyramid style. And for, News Writing is news writing style is the prose style used for news reporting in media such as newspapers, radio and television. News writing attempts to answer all the basic questions about any particular event—who, what, when, where and why (the Five Ws) and also often how—at the opening of the article. This form of structure is sometimes called the "inverted pyramid", to refer to the decreasing importance of information in subsequent paragraphs.
Reflection
For the most important of journalism is the practice of news story structures this material can help transfer knowledge effectively between educators and student. Now, I realise that journalism effective teaching preparation and recognize students strength and make me as a student more confidence to use and learn English news story structure materials in class or public because this material make the student know about structure of news story and when they make a story I will recognize my story. So, to know what i want to do when i increase my knowledge about english and in the future when I became to be a teacher or journalist i know how to give the student effective of learning. for me the activites learning that make me know all about english is to know what i will learn like i summarize, memorize the course and distribution of english and check the grammar to know if my english is already good. hopefully this material can add knowledge and insight related to learning innovation for me to get better sense of the purpose of the material.
